We have a dinosaur egg....

Ok so I DID get my computer back the same day I took it into Apple to fix my track pad. GOD I LOVE them!! But I only have 45 days left of Apple Care and I am torn. Do I get it again?? My computer is now almost 1 year old and I have already spilled an entire glass of wine on it...TOTALLY jacking it up...and although Apple should NOT have covered liquid damage, they did... $500 worth of damage. Friday my broken track pad could have cost me over $100....sooooo do I get Apple Care for another 2 years at $250 or do I hope for the best?? Lets see... Dogs, Cat, Kids... Wine... maybe I need to find an extra $250 in the budget..
But none of this has anything to do with my post today ;). I went to my Mom's house this weekend. She is now in a nursing home and we need to sell her house. I was bringing back some stuff we had taken out prior, so we could sell it at the "Estate" sale... While I was there I looked around a bit. Tons of stuff from my childhood were unearthed. Things that brought back so many memories, traditions, emotions... and I thought, "should I take some of this stuff to, 1. remind me of my childhood, 2. use it in the same way my Mom did to carry on "tradition" or 3. LET IT GO... I took a few things. Mostly pictures. And I kept thinking "should I take this for MY boys!??" My Mom has soooo much SH*T!! But I remember the way she would decorate for the holidays and the "traditions" we had and the memories she helped create...And I thought,  I hope I can create some wonderful memories for my boys :). Like "camping" in the living room in the summer time... like our elf Erwin that comes around Christmas...like the special way I say "good night" to them every night.. like our dinosaur egg...
About 3 years ago an old neighbor was moving. We stopped over to say goodbye. All of a sudden she looks at the boys (they were maybe 5 at the time) and said "Hey we have a dinosaur egg!!" And she begins to tell us the story of their first house (just down the road from this current house), her son, about Cole and Drew's age at the time finds this "dinosaur" egg. He takes care of it, makes sure it's safe and when they move to this house they take it with them. Well her son is now 15 and they are moving to California. She asks the boys if they would like the dinosaur egg... because clearly it is not a good idea to move it to California!! And she hands it over.. Jaws drop. The boys can't believe their eyes!! A "real" DINOSAUR egg!! We take it carefully and bring it home. The boys now 8 years old still "believe" it's an actual dinosaur egg(IT IS!!!) and one day when they are too old to believe I hope they to pass it on to another little boy... And  then it hit me while standing at my Mom's house...... MY boys and I are making are OWN memories... are OWN traditions... We have a dinosaur egg!!!
