So when I first got married (oh and btw... I still AM!!) I bought my STBX (soon to be ex) a beautiful little japanese maple.. It grew and grew and grew till it was not so little anymore. Many of my beloved pets are buried under it....
Such a pretty tree.... We lost so many trees in the backyard over the years from storms... We are down to 2... the japanese maple and a BEAUTIFUL chokecherry tree...LOVE the tree HATE the berries!! But anyway, the japanese maple hasn't been looking so good lately...
And when I went over to look at it today it was COMPLETELY dead!!
I mean DEAD!!
Hmmm... a sign perhaps?? Will I FINALLY be divorced soon?? OH please let it be a sign... a GOOD sign!!! A tree planted at the beginning of a marriage and dead at the end of it!!! One can only hope ;-)
So off to call Marvin from Happy Trees, our FAVORITE tree guy (if any of you need a tree guy, Marvin is your man...call me for his info!) to come remove the "dead wood" ... too bad he can't finalize this divorce!! Hopefully it's a step forward :-) Now to plan my garden....maybe I'll grow corn ...the neighbors would LOVE that ;-)

What a great metaphor! I certainly hope you can send all or your dead wood to the sawmill. Kati
ReplyDeleteOr run it through the chipper--think _Fargo_--either way, very satisfying :)
ReplyDeleteJust cut the darn tree down. Now that would be symbolic.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous I DID cut the darn tree down!
