My boys are twins... not identical, but fraternal (duh)... They look COMPLETELY different. And as they grow they are "finding" themselves... I try very hard to let them "be".. just "be"... I try not to influence their taste or style (cause like I have SOOooooOOO much of that!!). So today while getting ready for school I took notice.... Cole-he plays it safe.... :)
Nothing fancy.... straight forward... basic kid hair, basic kid wears...
basic kid nails... BUT not your basic kid!! ... And then there's Drew...
Spiked hair, painted nails and crazy socks.... Not playing it safe!!
Now sometimes I wonder if autism has anything to do with it... I really try to NOT let autism run much in our lives but inevitably it does.... but only sometimes ;) So I wondered today... Is Drew more willing to "march to a different drummer" because his autism allows him to (having different "awareness")??? And is Cole just being more "typical"(but so NOT a typical 8 year old!)?? Well whatever the reason, I have two amazing, unique boys! I am so grateful to be their Mom...best job I ever had!!
Now go march people... "be who you are and say what you feel...because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" Dr. Seuss.... Happy Friday!

Loved this post, have loved watching your very amazing boys grow up. EIGHT years old???!! They are the coolest.
